Within the period January 19 - 22, 2010 JSC "Polotsk-Steklovolokno" participated in the 19th International building exhibition Budma-2010, Poznan (Poland). The representatives of such countries as Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Romania, Belgium, Slovakia, Hungary, Turkey, Italy, Lithuania, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus visited our booth.
The following products were of the biggest interest for the visitors:
glass mesh of building
application, glass fabrics for production of rolled roofing materials,
glass yarns, rovings, glass fiber, as well as high temperature glass
fabrics.
At the result of the exhibition there were signed contracts for 2010
with 5 companies.

New Year with new undertakings!
Because of the market call JSC "Polotsk-Steklovolokno" developed the question of production of cotton fabrics used in production of electrical technical sheet and fancy textolite. For today trial samples of cotton fabric have been produced.

JSC "Polotsk-Steklovolokno" restarted the production of silica fiber
at its full capacity. A glass melting furnace for production of silica
fiber was put into operation, which was shut down some months earlier
for scheduled maintenance. By December a full set of orders for the
goods made of silica fiber was formed which helped to load the
capacities of the given furnace.
Thus, JSC "Polotsk-Steklovolokno" is able to satisfy any inquiries for the goods made of silica fiber of our respected old partners, as well as of potential customers.

For more than half a century at the market!
On November 27, 2009 JSC “Polotsk-Steklovolokno” celebrates its 51th anniversary. During our history we overcame a lot of difficulties. The year 2009 was not an easy one for us during the period of global financial-economic crisis. But in spite of everything our enterprise remains to be a strong competitor and one of the biggest enterprises in the world in production of glass fiber and the products on its basis. The evidence that we achieved a lot of success is confidence of our partners in 46 countries of the world. JSC “Polotsk-Steklovolokno” constantly increases the volumes of sales and vigorously grows export of the goods, which is today 85% in the total sales structure.
The enterprise sees its further strategy in implementation into production of new trends and types of products, in proximity of the products to the customer by means of opening of new warehouses abroad, foundation of two joint ventures on production of chopped strand mat and GRP pipes. We constantly develop our technologies, implement modern approaches to production process, fulfill any requirements of the customers. All this allows JSC “Polotsk-Steklovolokno” to face the future positively!

JSC "Polotsk-Steklovolokno" is planning to organize the production of linoleum with the base surface from polyester. We shall consider the proposals on delivery of the equipment and technology of production of linoleum with the width 4,5 m.
JSC «Polotsk-Steklovolokno» pays a great attention to the extension of a range of fabrics on the basis of silica fiber PS with silicon oxide contents not less than 98%. In order to extend the range of products provided at the market the following materials were developed: PS-600-CV, PS-1000-CV, PS-600-NC with the width up to 2 m.
Silica fabrics PS-600-CV, PS-1000-CV – should take an intermediate position among silica fabrics between the materials subjected to thermal treatment and the materials having finishing impregnation. Having all thermal protection properties of silica materials they have finished coating which fixes the fabric structure which makes further cutting easier.
Silica fabric PS-600-NC has a finished coating on the basis of the newest achievements of nanotechnologies - nanocorrundum (the hardest natural material after diamond), which besides giving additional thermal protection properties to the material provides resistance to abrasion in the process of operation.
At the present time thermal and physical parameters of the given materials together with the whole range of silica materials are under tests in the Institute of heat-mass exchange of the Academy of science of Belarus.
The materials on the basis of silica fiber PS with contents of silicon oxide not less than 98% have superb high temperature thermal insulation and thermal protection properties. They have a low thermal conductivity, high resistance to thermal shock, have superb electric insulation and acoustic properties at high temperatures, can be used for a long time without changing of properties at the temperature up to 1200 °Ñ. It is necessary to note that these materials do not show any hazard to a person and environment.
Big attention is paid to the extension of a range of products for reinforcing of composite materials on the basis of epoxy, phenol, unsaturated polyester resins, polyamides.
In particular a wide range of materials has been developed, saleable glass yarns and glass rovings in production of which universal sizing of a new generation is used, providing compatibility of glass materials with the majority of polymer binders. The quality of compatibility is confirmed by the trials in the corresponding glass plastics.
Also the production of heavy roving fabrics with the weight up to 915 g/sq.m for reinforcement of plastics on the basis of different polymer binders was developed.
A range of produced typical electric insulation fabrics was extended with the electric insulation fabrics with the weight 24 and 33 g/sq.m.
The production of a number of fabrics made of high modulus glass was developed, combined fabrics made of glass fiber and man-made fibers.

All roving fabrics are manufactured on silane group sizing not requiring additional burning and providing good adhesion to different types of resins. Besides we produce and offer a wide range of glass yarns from 3,4 to 300 tex on silane and starch sizing direct rovings, construction glass fabrics Ò-11, Ò-13 and others in accordance to our standard GOST 19170-2001, construction fabrics of satin weave with the weight up to 1100 g, glass rovings and chopped glass fiber.

JSC «Polotsk-Steklovolokno» has extended the production of articles made of glass composites.
At the given moment the enterprise manufactures new types of articles, like glass plastic pools and trays for growing of juvenile fresh-water fish, pleasure boats.
For today a sewing department of our production manufactures the following types of thermal insulation and fire protective articles on the basis of silica glass fabrics and needle felt non-woven materials:
- fire protective blankets;
- thermal insulation sleeves.
Fire protective blankets are designated for containment of fire at its initial stage, extinguishing of clothes on the injured by means of blockage of free oxygen delivery, protection of combustible structures and equipment while conducting of firing works.
The blankets are made of silica fabrics. Fire protective blanket is folded and packed into a bright red container.
The plants where application of a given article is necessary – departments and laboratories of industrial enterprises, airports, petrol stations, hotels, schools, hospitals and so on.
The production of analogous articles: blankets, napkins, curtains is based on high thermal insulation and fire protective properties of silica fabrics and are used mainly in production of kitchen stoves and baking ovens.
Fire protective blankets correspond to the requirements of item 5.1.13 part VI “Fire protection” of the Regulations of classification and construction of sea crafts, 2005. The given conformity is confirmed by “Certificate on typical approval” issued by the Russian sea register of navigation (¹06.61145.184 dated 19.07.2006).
Thermal insulation sleeves are designated for providing of thermal insulation of the element of engine exhaust system.
Ready-made thermal insulation articles are made in accordance to drawings approved by the customer.
All thermal insulation articles are a combination of the following materials: inner layer – silica fabric (PS-600, PS-1000, KT-11-30ê è äð.); filler – needle felt non-woven material (IPM-Å); outer layer – foiled silica glass fabric (or foiled glass fabric made of Å-glass). The articles from silica glass fabric can operate at the temperature up to 1100 Ñ.
